Moments of Humanity

During the start of the pandemic, volunteers were hit hard by many restrictions.

Sofi from Canyon High School in Anaheim decided to start a Students United online with close to 30 attendees every Zoom meeting.

Through Sofi’s leadership, students participated in various volunteer activities like writing encouragement cards to chronically-ill children, serving seniors meals every other Sunday, and being readily available to fulfill a volunteer need in the community upon request.

Through Students United’s consistent efforts, more lives were impacted positively during a tragic year. Despite the odds thrown at us this year, we are reminded that there are young people like Sofi and her group bringing hope one volunteer opportunity at a time. All of us can learn something about service from a group of high school students.
